Sand Experiment
This is such an AWESOME idea!!! I am a 6th grade science teacher and everytime a student goes on vacation they bring a bottle or bag of sand. We then label it with the beach, date and their name. We now have 35 bottles of sand in our classroom. I think its a fabulous project!!

Re: Your SAND
Sounds like a lovely project. I will be home in June/July ..is it too late? For here we only have the sands of Prague’s river bank.., but my other home..has the peace and joy of artists inspiration and free thinking upon it:)..in Northern California. Let me know if the timing works. I would like to be a part of it:)
Best of luck in your beautiful project:)

I would be glad to help and take part in this project, but, unfortunately, I don’t live anywhere close to a
beach or a desert…
Good luck with this brilliant idea!

Re: YOUR SAND
Hello Jean, (is it Jean or JFA?)
Your project sounds really interesting. I’ll try to get some sand when we go to the beach. It’s almost summer
over here so I’ll be at a beach somewhere in the following months. You don’t have a deadline, do you? I
just wanted to ask, though - how do I send the sand to you? In a box? Bottle?
Good luck on the project ![]()

Hi!
I’m happy to participate in your project. I can take some sand from Volga river bank (Volga is in
Nizhny Novgorod). But now there is a winter in Russia. A lot of snow. May be later when snow will go away I do my part of job. Or another decision - I can digger the snow bank and find some sand.
Very interesting project!!!

Jean… deeply sorry I can’t bring it any sand if you want from beach or desert. Jakarta’s beach is so
poor… i meant poluted. If you sent this email a few days before, I’ll tell my parents whos just from Bali.
But I’ll try to find / bring from another part… my question is in airport, do the immigration allow me to
bring it? I have a plan to visit France in the next March middle… and still looking for some couchs.
Success with your great goal………
Merci,
Maria

salut Jean francois,
informations.
A bientôt

Rebonjour,

Hi, Jean-Francois!
Thank you for your lovely message, what a cool project you have, indeed. I am just so sorry to say that during the winter it is impossible to collect the sand from here I live. Lakes and beaches are frozen and covered by ice and snow… I have no plans to visit Arctic Ocean, so it seems that the sand from Northern Finland is impossible to get in next couple of months. Good luck with your project!
Greetings from cold and sunny Rovaniemi!

hey.
i read your post and its a lovely idea! I will be in palestine from the 25.06. till 20.07.08. So i can
collect some sand. must the sand be from the beach? Or is it enough from the desert? Cause for us palestinans its not allowed to enter to the beach (red, death, mettiteran sea). Israel controlls the borders and its difficult for me to visit the sea… i can drive to the desert in the westbank…and collect sand! is that okay?

Souhail
